Chiih is the Navajo name for natural red earth pigment.

It is used as a blush, pow wow paint or can be applied 

to face and hands as a sun block.

The red in this organic makeup comes from Chiih, a naturally occurring red Earth pigment.  Chiih is a word that comes from the Navajo language.  Our people use the red pigment in traditional ways.  My grandmother used to wear it as a sunblock when she was herding sheep.  It is also used by Pow Wow dances as a face paint and for protection from bad way people.  This natural paint is best used as a blush or rouge.
